November 5th, 2002 - Westport
has introduced an electronic
payment card StarTag cashless,
which could be; used by its
employee at 11 retail outlets
and the Mobil petrol kiosk;
located at the port area.
According to
its project manager N. Vijendran,
apart from serving as payment
card, STARTAG cashless could
also be used as time attendance
and medical treatment card at
panel clinics.
He said in
a statement that with the card
employees had a flexible option
of additional topping-up of
monthly cash limit.
The card allows
Westport employees to spend
up to RM20 per day and RM200
per month.
"To promote
the card and encourage its usage,
the 1,800 Westport employees
were given a nondeductible starter
bonus of RM20.
By the middle
of last month, more than RM103,000
turnover had been recorded at
the 12 participating outlets,
which indicated a good reception,"
Vijendran said. |
