WESTPORT marked another historical milestone yesterday with the maiden voyage of China Shipping's MV CSCL Europe calling at the port. This SX-class series vessel can carry up to approximately 8500, 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs), 334 metres in length (LOA) and is built with a draft of 14.5 metres.
It is one of the world's largest loadage container vessels and represents the state-of-the-art standards of international containers transportation.
This brand new ultra modern gigantic vessel will be making regular calls to Westport as it serves the Far East-Europe Line Service, calling at the harbours of, among others, such as Qingdao, Shanghai, Yantian, Hong Kong, Port Klang (Westport), Felixstowe, Hamburg, Rotterdam and Antwerp.
